SunPower SunVault™ Storage System Overview

Technical Data Sheet: Performance analysis and hardware configuration for sunpower-module.

SunVault Storage System Overview

welcome to a quick overview of sun power sun vault storage a better way to get power when you need it most in this short video we'll walk through the components that make sun vault an integrated innovative and powerful home storage solution

there are two primary components in a typical sun vault system hub plus and the sun vault battery together they form a standard 13 kilowatt hour system customers with larger homes or greater energy needs can add extra battery units for 26 kilowatt hours of backup power

The SunVault Battery Component

let's take a closer look at the sunvault battery component this houses the actual batteries which store the energy produced by your solar system as well as the inverter which converts that stored energy into electricity that powers the lights and appliances throughout your home on the outside our led panel easily lets you see if your system is charging discharging and even how much energy is being used together our superior battery chemistry and technology provides more power and more charge cycles than conventional solar storage systems so you can power more of your home in an outage and still get more life out of the battery

Hub Plus and System Intelligence

now let's take a closer look at the hub plus the brains behind the system hub plus contains an integrated breaker or circuit breaker panel so you can customize which appliances or parts of your home are backed up and not backed up in the event of a power outage it also includes the breakers where most or all of your solar panels are connected behind the scenes intuitive software algorithms detect utility disruptions automatically switching to backup power whenever the grid goes down charging the batteries when the sun is out and switching back to the grid when power returns plus built-in monitoring hardware tracks your entire system so you can easily check your status energy production and battery charge level right in the my sunpower app and as you can see the sleek minimalist design looks great in any home

Rapid Power Off (RPO) Button

some homes where required by local regulations may also include a rapid power off button or rpo you won't use it in any normal circumstances but you should know where it is in case it ever needs to be reset resetting is as simple as pulling the button out when it's in the out position your system will function normally and the led light will be illuminated thanks for watching and be sure to check out more sun vault videos at sunpower.com slash welcome dash guide

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1: What are the main components of the SunVault system?

A1: The two primary components in a typical SunVault system are Hub Plus and the SunVault battery.

Q2: How does the SunVault system manage power during an outage?

A2: The Hub Plus contains intuitive software algorithms that detect utility disruptions, automatically switching to backup power whenever the grid goes down. It also charges the batteries when the sun is out and switches back to the grid when power returns.

Q3: Can the SunVault system be expanded for more backup power, and does it work with SunPower solar panels (modules)?

A3: Yes, while a standard system offers 13 kilowatt hours of backup power, customers with larger homes or greater energy needs can add extra battery units for 26 kilowatt hours. The Hub Plus includes the breakers where most or all of your solar panels are connected, ensuring seamless integration with your solar energy production.
